LGBT Life Center

LGBT Life Center empowers the LGBTQ communities and all people affected by HIV through improving health and wellness, strengthening families and communities, and providing transformative education and advocacy.

Southeastern Transgender Resource Center

The highest priority of Southeastern Transgender Resource Center is to inspire and provide resources to our trans-identified community by creating a stigma free safe environment while helping stop violence against us throughout Hampton Roads.

Equality Virginia

Equality Virginia (EV) understands that LGBTQ Virginians, from youth to seniors, continue to experience violence, discrimination, and disparities, particularly transgender people and people of color.

Calos Coalition

They raise and distribute aid directly to trans folks via the Trans Wish List and collaborate with allies and creators to amplify trans excellence and joy. Our events, support group, workshops, and the Trans Family Dinner foster community connections.

P-Flag Hampton Roads

From its founding in 1972 to its work today, PFLAG has been uniting people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA) with families, friends, and allies, and is committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education, and advocacy.

TAP VA

The Transgender Assistance Program of Virginia – TAP VA is an all volunteer, trans led non-profit organization created to end homelessness within the transgender community in Virginia.

Trans Lifeline

Trans Lifeline connects trans people to the community support and resources they need to survive and thrive.

Transgender, Gender-Variant & Intersex Justice Project (TGIJP)

A grassroots organization fostering mutual aid and community support for transgender, gender-variant, and intersex people who are currently or formerly incarcerated. They coordinate direct assistance, advocacy, leadership development, and solidarity networks while building power through community organizing, legal support, and creating spaces for healing and collective liberation.

Trans Asylum Seekers Support Network

A national mutual aid collective building an autonomous organization to provide very longterm, comprehensive, and needs-based support to trans women and LGBTQI+ people that is not available through nonprofits, churches, or sponsorships.

Trans Doe Task Force

A trans-led nonprofit organization that finds and researches cases of LGBTQ+ missing and murdered persons.

Point of Pride

A trans-led organization fostering mutual aid and community power through direct support programs for the trans community worldwide. They coordinate gender-affirming aid, financial assistance, and solidarity networks while building power through community support, resource sharing, and creating accessible pathways to transition-related care.

Legal Advocacy & Resources

ACLU LGBTQ Rights Legislative Tracker

A comprehensive resource tracking anti-LGBTQ legislation across U.S. state legislatures, maintained by the ACLU’s legal and advocacy team. The tracker monitors bills targeting transgender rights, local protections, and religious exemptions while providing updates on the status of legislation and related court cases. This tool helps communities stay informed about legislative threats and organize mutual aid responses to support affected LGBTQ+ individuals.

LGBTQ Freedom Fund

LGBTQ Freedom Fund pays bail to secure the safety and liberty of individuals in jail and immigration detention.

National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR)

A feminist-founded legal organization fostering mutual aid and solidarity through LGBTQ civil rights advocacy and impact litigation. They coordinate legal support, policy advocacy, and solidarity networks while building power through racial and economic justice initiatives, creating systemic change for LGBTQ individuals and their families.

Queer Liberation Library

A community-driven resource library fostering mutual aid and queer liberation through accessible knowledge sharing and community education. They coordinate book lending, resource distribution, and solidarity networks while building power through queer literature, political education, and creating spaces for LGBTQ+ community learning and empowerment.

LGBTQ+ Mutual Aid Network

An online community fostering mutual aid and solidarity through direct support and resource sharing for LGBTQ+ individuals. They coordinate assistance requests, community support, and solidarity networks while building power through digital organizing, peer support, and creating virtual spaces for LGBTQ+ mutual aid.

Tidewater Queer History Project 

Documenting and archiving the stories of queer people in Hampton Roads. “The TQHP is currently interviewing people who identify as lesbian, bisexual, queer, and transgender for a documentary film. Of particular interest are women over 60 who have lived in Hampton Roads for part or all of their lives. They are also interested in hearing from people who would like to tell the stories of women no longer living.


INTERSEX SUPPORT

Intersex Justice Project

Intersex Justice Project works to end invasive and unnecessary surgeries on intersex youth by empowering intersex people of color as change-makers.


BLACK LGBTQIA SUPPORT

The Counter Narrative Project

CNP is a narrative change organization that stands in the tradition of Bayard Rustin, James Baldwin, Essex Hemphill, and other movement leaders, artists, organizers, and visionaries committed to countering narratives and speaking truth to power. CNP shifts narratives about Black gay, bisexual, queer, and other men who have sex with men to change policy and improve lives.
