Workers across Tidewater, VA are coming together to fight for higher wages, health and safety, and rights and power on the job.
The Virginia AFL-CIO monitors all legislation affecting the working people of Virginia. To keep the state’s labor standards on a progressive track for all working people, the Virginia AFL-CIO worked to win the fight against passage of laws that would have reduced unemployment benefits and lowered compensation payments for injured workers who choose to retire.
NATIONAL RESOURCES
A mutual aid network organizing worker solidarity and direct support initiatives across the United States. They coordinate resource sharing, strike support, and community organizing while building networks of solidarity through labor organizing and collective action to advance worker power and economic justice.
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers represents approximately 873,000 active members and retirees who work in a wide variety of fields, including utilities, construction, telecommunications, broadcasting, manufacturing, railroads and government.
National Day Laborer Organizing Network
NDLON improves the lives of day laborers, migrants and low-wage workers. They build leadership and power among those facing injustice so they can challenge inequality and expand labor, civil and political rights for all.
