ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE

VIRGINIA RESOURCES

Wetlands Watch

We envision a future in which Virginia’s communities and natural systems flourish amidst the escalating impacts driven by climate change, and one where wetlands are thriving ecosystems that support a diversity of wildlife, serve as natural safeguards against flooding, protect against erosion, and help keep water quality high. We work toward a future in which academics, business leaders, conservationists, landowners, citizens, and government officials throughout Virginia unite to develop innovative and creative solutions to what we believe is the defining challenge of our time.

Elizabeth River Project

By the 1990s, the Elizabeth River had been left for dead. Decades of unchecked pollution had rendered it lifeless, and in the eyes of many, hopeless. But then Hampton Roads’ people, businesses, governments and schools came together to Do Something Beautiful. They joined together to turn the tide of history and bring new life to the Elizabeth River.

Elizabeth River Trail

The Elizabeth River Trail Foundation believes that access to trails and open spaces are a fundamental right for all. The ERT has the power to connect communities and provide public access to our working waterfront.

Cville Litter Pickers

Cville Litter Pickers do meetups where they litter pick in the Charlottesville and Albemarle county area for a few hours, then go socialize over lunch/dinner or drinks. It’s a great way to help the community, meet new people, and get some outdoor exercise all at the same time!
